Alvin Kamara has decided to stay in Knoxville for one more year. The Tennessee running back was considering going to the NFL but after Cam Sutton and Jalen Reeves-Maybin coming back to anchor the defense Kamara will give the offense a shot in the arm.

Kamara tweeted his decision on Monday.

Last season Kamara split carries with Jalen Hurd but had some games where he took over. Averaging almost ten yards a carry the Vols running back ran for 144 yards and 2 touchdowns in the opener against Bowling Green last year.

After Kamara announced his decision the team released a video to welcome him back to Knoxville. He and Hurd are known as Run CMG. CMG stands for Chain Moving Gang, in case you didn’t know

Kamara would’ve been drafted on the last day of the 2016 NFL Draft if he would’ve been selected at all. He could’ve been an undrafted free agent and try to get on with a team like the Titans who are thing at running back but his best option was to come back for another year at Tennessee. Many experts are predicting that the Vols are the team to beat next year in the SEC East. By staying in Knoxville has a good chance to boost his draft stock in 2017.
