Ben Madon will get a chance to play in the NFL but will have to take the tough route after not getting drafted last week. The former EKU tight end from Pineville, Kentucky, accepted a rookie minicamp tryout invitation from the Oakland Raiders.
Madon tweeted the news on Sunday evening.
Blessed that the Oakland Raiders have given me the opportunity to further my football career!

Madon was a first team All-OVC selection this past season. He caught 34 passes for a team-best 456 yards in 2015. He also had three touchdown catches. Madon’s 40-yard dash time at EKU’s Pro Day was better than several tight ends invited to the NFL Draft Combine in February.
The Raiders have a lot of depth at tight end with Lee Smith, Mychal Rivera, Gabe Holms and Clive Walford also on the roster. They did sign another TE prospect, Ryan O’Malley from Penn as well.
