Brandon Burks put himself on the map today at the Troy Pro Day in Troy, Alabama. Burks ran the 40 in 4.41 which would’ve tied for second best at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis last week. Burks also bench pressed 225 pounds 24 times which would’ve tied him for fifth. His vertical jump, 37 inches would’ve also tied him for fifth in Indy.

Burks rushed for over 1,000 yards last year for the Trojans and is thought to be the best NFL prospect on the team. At 5’8. 205 pounds he may need to add some size to play at the next level. Due to playing at a smaller school he didn’t get a lot of exposure and will probably have to sign with an NFL team as an undrafted free agent or go to a rookie mini camp.

Nineteen NFL teams were represented at the Pro Day. The Redskins, Bill and Titans had scouts present.

In addition to Burks the following Trojans participated at Pro Day.

WR Jarvis Bentley
RB Phillip Crotchen
DT Billy Dobbs
DB Lamarcus Farmer
DL Lonnie Gosha
WR Bryan Holmes
S Montres Kitchens
QB Dontreal Pruitt
S Darrin Reddick
DE Tyler Roberts
WR Teddy Ruben
DE c
K Jed Solomon
QB Dallas Tidwell

Notable performances: Holmes ran the 40 in 4.47 Roberts ran it in 4.63 which is very good for a defensive end. Simon benched 225 pounds 22 times.
