Chris Johnson has signed a new one year deal with Arizona. After visiting with the Dolphins Johnson decided to stay in Arizona and tweeted the news to his follower on Twitter earlier today.

Johnson signed a one year deal with Arizona last year and finished with 814 yards on 196 carries and three TDs. CJ would’ve rushed for over 1,000 yards but hurt his knee in late November that ended his season.

When Johnson went down due to injury unheralded rookie running back David Johnson stepped up and likely solidified his position as the starter in 2016 by exploding against the Rams in his first start in early December for 99 yards and a rushing touchdown. Two weeks later D. Johnson went off for 187 yards rushing and three TDs.

Johnson was cut by the Jets after a disappointing 2014 season after being involved in a drive by shooting in Florida.

In 2008 Johnson was the first round draft pick by the Titans. In his second year he really broke out and rushed for 2,006 yards. Johnson was known as CJ2K while he was in Tennessee after the big year. Since then his numbers have gone down bur he did seem to find new life with the Cardinals last year as backup before his injury. With David Johnson and Andre Ellington ahead of him on the depth chart CJ won’t be a starter but will still get a chance to show he still has it in his bid for a Super Bowl ring.
