There have been rumblings lately that the Browns are considering trading back into the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft and will draft a quarterback in later rounds. Pep Hamilton has been linked to Kevin Hogan at Stanford who will be a late round pick. Don’t believe the rumors Cleveland is all in for a QB at #2.

It’s not known which quarterback the Browns like the most out of Carson Wentz and Jared Goff. Cleveland head coach Hue Jackson was at Goff and Wentz’s Pro Day last month and both QBs have been on official visits with the Browns in recent weeks. Jackson spent time talking to Wentz at the Senior Bowl earlier this year as well. Browns QB coach Pep Hamilton is considered a QB guru and he’s going to have his hands full with one of the rookie QBS this summer.

There will be quarterbacks who could be molded into starters in later rounds if the Browns wanted to go after FSU DB Jalen Ramsey or Ohio State LB Joey Boss. Mississippi State QB Dam Prescott will be around in round 3 and Arkansas QB Brandon Allen could he had in rounds 4 or 5. But with all the resources the Browns have put into vetting both Wentz and Goff I just don’t see Cleveland trading back unless another team blows them away with a blockbuster deal.

With Tennessee taking Ole Miss LT Laremy Tunsil or Jalen Ramsey the Browns will have the pick of the QB litter unless the Titans trade back. Jackson wants to put his mark on the team and I thik that starts with taking the best QB on the board at pick two.
