Kenyan Drake is the perfect RB for NFL teams and there’s no doubt about it. At 6’1″ and 210lbs, Drake has uncanny 4.45 speed and the ability to make any defender miss the tackle. Drake is able to line up virtually anywhere on the field; whether it’s in the backfield, as a receiver, or even as a TE or H-Back. So why doesn’t he get the respect he deserves as one of the better running back prospects in this year’s draft? Simple. The beast that goes by the name Derrick Henry.
Kenyan Drake was a forgotten piece in the Alabama offense simply due to a rash of injuries which was what allowed Derrick Henry to emerge as the Heisman winning juggernaut. Even with that being the case though Drake has always been a productive player when healthy. His career stats may not look like much at Alabama, but you can’t deny his effort and his ability to be an effective part of an offense. If used properly and by the right offense, Drake could end up having a better NFL career than Derrick Henry. I wouldn’t even be surprised if someone drafted him and moved him primarily to the WR position. Simply put he’s a bigger, better, more polished version of the Los Angeles Rams offensive weapon Tavon Austin.
So let us know what you think. Is Kenyan Drake as good as advertised? Are you worried about his recent history of injuries? Do the injuries along with the playing time of Derrick Henry make him more intriguing due to less “miles” on his body? Who do you think will draft him? What round?
