Paxton Lynch is projected to be a first round draft pick in April’s Draft. This week at the Combine the 6’7 245 pound Memphis QB got to workout and talk to teams in Indianapolis. According to his agent Leigh Steinberg Lynch met with eleven teams at the Combine.

The eleven teams are,
New York Jets
Buffalo Bills
Kansas City Chiefs
Philadelphia Eagles
Dallas Cowboys
Houston Texans
L.A. Rams
New Orleans Saints
Cleveland Browns
Arizona Cardinals
San Fransisco 49ers

Some of the teams that met with Lynch are somewhat surprising for different reasons. Teams like the Saints and Cardinals who have established quarterbacks will probably pick a QB in the later rounds. Drew Brees and Carson Palmer had good years last year despite being older veterans. It’s hard to see New Orleans and Arizona drafting a QB in the first round. With Arizona picking so late in the draft Lynch likely wouldn’t be there anyway.

The Browns had to kick the tires on Lynch. Sitting at #2 they will likely pick the top QB in the draft unless the Titans trade the top pick to a team looking for a quarterback. The Texans, Rams and 49ers are all in the market for a QB and Lynch could be there man on draft day.

Buffalo is a little surprising considering Tyrod Taylor went to the Pro Bowl last year. He is in the last year of his contract so if the Bills drafted Lynch it would make a little sense.

Dallas is the wildcard in all of this. Sitting at #4 you never know what Jerry Jones will do. The team publicly has stated that Tony Romo is their guy but he’s not getting any younger and if they see something in Lynch or another QB prospect like Carson Wentz or Jared Goff they may pull the trigger with the fourth pick.

The Chiefs appear to be set at quarterback with Alex Smith. And picking so far back in the draft Lynch likely wouldn’t be there at #28

Mock drafts are all over the board with Lynch but there is a consensus that he will be a top 15 pick which means Kansas City, Houston and Arizona likely won’t have a chance at picking him unless he slips or they decide to trade up.

Lynch had a decent Combine. His 40 time was a little slower than most imagined but he will still have his pro day at Memphis next month to try to improve.

Below are Lynch’s Combine scores and where he placed among all QBs.
40 yard dash 4.86 (14th)
Vertical jump 36 inches (2nd)
Broad jump 9’10 inches (2nd)
Cone drill 7.14 (8th)
