Sometimes, maybe even most times, uncontrollable emotions stifle our logic, visions, beliefs and outright inability to believe and /or accept the obvious. Now the obvious is not always obvious especially if one believes in miracles and things unseen and even things forgotten. I’d be the first to admit that I have often made intuitive decision while pushing logic off to the side.

Speaking of pushing logic to the side, Mr. Todd Bowles comes quickly to mind. I am in no position to ascertain whether Bowles is or considers himself a man and coach given to intuitive decision making or scientific decision making but what is obvious here and now is there are 6 games remaining in the season and quitting before the last second of the last play in the last game of the season is what cowards do and that doesn’t seem to be what this coach and team is about.

No matter how big the opposition, how wide the point spread and how loud the voices grow, the Jets and the fearless coach continue to strive to become the players, coaches and team they believe they were drafted and put together to become. Bowles played defensive back at Temple and was an undrafted rookie for Redskins and later the 49ers. He has worked alongside some of the most tenacious coaches in the NFL. Hence, with tenacity comes definiteness of purpose and that for Coach Bowles means winning a game now.

“Make up your mind today what it is you want and then start today to go after it! Do it now!”  (Napoleon Hill).

He’s a players’ coach and players want to win – now!

And yes, sometimes it does seem like our favorite players aren’t playing hard enough or throwing enough complete passes or intercepting the ball enough to want to win, but the fact is we can not exchange places with them and so we are only left we our prayers, wishes, and screaming voices to will our Jets into the end zone.

So here we are, we are here. It’s week 12 and its officially less than 24 hours away from the first of two matchups against our nemesis Shady Brady and Patriots. Since 1960, we’ve had a long history of battles with the Patriots; some of which had happy endings for the fans of Gang Green. In the first 10 meetings between the Boston Patriots (NE Patriots -1971) and New York Titans (JETS-1963), five games were decided by 7 points or less. The series results entering tomorrow’s game now stands at 59-54-1, NE.

Notwithstanding, Todd Bowles is a smart guy and we should let him do his job whilst we do ours.

He is the coach and he knows that 6 of the last 7 meetings have been decided by 7 points or less.  Belichick knows this as well.  Bowles also knows that the Geno led Jets(2014)  were 3-12 battling the 12-3 Patriots and still managed to hold them to 10 points until a late 4th quarter come back with less than 2:00 minutes in the game. Yes, the Jets took a loss here but the point is they were supremely sub-par yet managed to nearly stick it to the Patriots. The previous meeting that same year Jets (1-6) and Patriots (5-2) was decided by 2 points.  Note, the Jets held the ball for more than 40 minutes.
Alors, so remember when in their December 27, 2015 meeting Fitz had a passer rating of 109.4 versus Brady’s 89.6? If you don’t, I’m sure Bowles remembers quite well and I’m certain Fitz can also recall the last seconds of that battle.  So, do I believe Bowles made a desperate decision? No!

A decision with no regrets is the best decision you could make especially when it involves getting a team of adult males to believe that you believe in them.

Meanwhile, our job as fans is to be fans. That means –we should bite, scream, wear lots of green and yell JETS…JETS…NO REGRETS!
I’m ready and I hope you are!
