Todd McShay has everyone buzzing about the Titans drafting Joey Bosa #1 overall in his latest mock draft. Bosa is the sexy pick right now heading into the NFL Combine later this month. Let me remind you that McShay will release several mock drafts leading up to the actual event in April. Don’t get me wrong Bosa is a legit prospect but the Titans aren’t going to draft him #1 overall.

I’m not saying that Bosa won’t be picked first in the draft. It just won’t be the Titans. Tennessee’s new GM Jon Robinson is hoping that some team falls in love with Bosa or Jared Goff, or any other player for that matter and trades up to get them. The Titans have too many needs on offense and defense to draft the Ohio State defensive end. If the Titans do draft defense at #1 is will be Jalen Ramsey at corner.

From what we have heard they like Ole Miss defensive lineman Robert Nkemdiche more than Bosa. Nkemdiche’s draft stock has taken a hit but he will still be there in the middle of the first round if the Titans do want to trade down and go in that direction.

The Titans need help mostly at corner and offensive line. That’s why I believe that if Tennessee does stay at #1 they will get Laremy Tunsil, tackle from Ole Miss. Their O-line was horrible at best last year and nearly got last year’s #2 pick, Marcus Mariota killed. Mariota showed flashes last year that he can lead the team to the playoffs but they have to protect him. Tennessee will upgrade their offensive line in the draft and free agency. I think they will trade back in the draft for more picks but if they stay at #1 Tunsil is the pick, not Bosa.

With the Browns picking #2 this year the Titans need a team to fall in love with QB Jared Goff at the Combine. Cleveland is probably going after a quarterback with the second pick so Tennessee can leverage that to any other team that wants the best QB on the board. Teams like Dallas at #4 or the 49ers at #7 could be potential trading partners due to their needs at QB.

If Tennessee can find another team that wants Goff and will give up their first and second round plus future draft picks the Titans can trade back further in the draft and fill the holes on the offensive line, secondary and receiver.

Two things are for sure they aren’t picking Joey Bosa with the first pick and Todd McShay will redo his mock drafts several times before the draft in April.
