It is here! The Falcons are primed and ready to make their pick tonight. They’re sitting at 16 and waiting to see how the picks ahead of them are shaking out. Atlanta wants to look linebacker in the first round, but with Leonard Floyd’s draft stock rising late, and questions surrounding the health of Reggie Ragland, the Falcons might be zeroing in on another possible round 1 pick.
The last Hype Train article was centered on man-beast Reggie Ragland out of Alabama. However, health questions have emerged in light of Ragland’s recent diagnosis with an enlarged aorta. Leonard Floyd (LB – UGA) was said to be in the wheelhouse as well for the Falcons. However, rumors of Floyd going to Tampa Bay with the 11th pick have grown stronger. This news comes in light of the recent developments with top-tier linebacker Myles Jack (UCLA). Jack has some questions surrounding the recovery and possible further medical attention needed for his knee. With Ragland, Jack, and Jaylon Smith (ND) having various medical issues the Falcons may want to address another need. However, options other than a linebacker remain for Atlanta. With Floyd’s possible rise up the board, the Falcons may be in the market to fill another hole. The Falcons could also go with Ohio State standout backer Darron Lee.
Yep, we need a new plan.
